Legal Counsel - Regulatory Disputes 3 +

Our client is a listed international FMCG business, operating within a highly regulated space, seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join their Sydney legal team. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to a commercial or disputes lawyer with 3+ years' experience who enjoys a genuine mix of regulatory, compliance, corporate, and commercial work.
You will support the business across a broad range of matters, including:
Advise on regulatory compliance issues, including product regulation, labelling, advertising and marketing standards, and industry-specific requirements.Provide pragmatic commercial legal advice and support across the business on a wide range of day-to-day operational and strategic matters.Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, with particular focus on procurement, supply, distribution, manufacturing and service agreements.Manage and support litigation, disputes and regulatory investigations, working closely with external counsel where required.Support marketing, sales and brand teams with legal clearance of advertising, promotions, packaging and consumer-facing materials.Identify, assess and help mitigate legal and compliance risks across the business, contributing to internal policies, training and governance frameworks.Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (procurement, commercial, operations, finance and senior leadership) to deliver commercially sound, risk-aware outcomes.
What we’re looking for
3+ years’ PQE in a law firm and/or in-house environmentStrong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating closely with the wider legal and commercial teamsExcellent communication skills and a pragmatic, commercial approach
