About the role
This is a pivotal, hands-on role with primary responsibility for the reliable operation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the facility's production-line machinery and equipment at a precast polymer concrete manufacturing facility in Laverton North. The successful candidate will be confident overseeing production equipment, diagnosing issues and coordinating servicing, repairs and upgrades as required. They will also manage a small but experienced production team, oversee day-to-day production and align output with national sales requirements.
Key responsibilities
Manage the daily production and delivery of polymer concrete products.
Lead, mentor, and develop a small but high-performing production/operations team.
Drive workflow efficiency, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Support sales operations with insights that strengthen customer experience.
Champion workplace safety and compliance across the site.
Oversee production-line machinery and equipment, including identifying faults and coordinating servicing, repairs and upgrades.
About you
Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience, ideally gained in a manufacturing or production environment.
Demonstrated experience overseeing production-line machinery and equipment, including identifying faults and coordinating servicing, repairs and upgrades.
Tertiary qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering will be highly regarded.
Experience managing manufacturing operations and leading a small, experienced production team.
Strong planning, leadership, problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience in polymers, plastics, precast concrete or building-related products will be advantageous.
An understanding of the construction industry and the production-to-customer sales cycle will also be beneficial.
A practical, hands-on and improvement-focused approach to production management.
