Practice Nurse

This role suits an experienced registered nurse who enjoys variety, continuity of care and working with a supportive multidisciplinary team. Role overview As a Practice Nurse you will deliver high-quality nursing care in a busy general practice environment.

You will perform clinical procedures, provide patient education, support chronic disease management and contribute to practice improvement activities. The role requires strong communication, excellent clinical judgment and a commitment to delivering safe, evidence-based care. Key responsibilities Deliver nursing consultations including wound care, immunisations and chronic disease monitoring.

Conduct clinical assessments, triage and essential observations. Support GPs with procedures and minor clinical tasks as required. Coordinate recall systems, preventative health checks and health screening programs.

Provide patient education on medication management, lifestyle change and self-care. Maintain accurate, timely documentation and follow practice policies for infection control. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in practice meetings.

Essential requirements Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse. Prior experience in general practice, community health or similar primary care setting preferred. Strong clinical skills including immunisations, wound management and chronic disease support.

Excellent communication skills and a patient-centred approach. Current CPR certification and up-to-date vaccinations as per practice policy. Ability to work effectively in a diverse, collaborative team.

Desirable attributes Experience with practice management software and electronic medical records. Additional qualifications in primary care, chronic disease management or immunisation. Confidence conducting nurse-led clinics and contributing to preventative health programs.
