About the role
Champions Gym | Myaree WA 6154 + Cross-Location (including Highgate WA 6003)
Casual Hours | Morning & Afternoon Shifts
Most gyms hire coaches to run sessions. We're hiring someone who notices who's missing.
Members drop off.
They get busy, they get flat, they talk themselves out of it.
When that happens, we expect you to pick up the phone — not send a template text, not wait for them to come back on their own.
Call them. Find out what's going on. Get them back in the door.
That's not an add-on to this role. That's the role.
We're looking for a genuine Muay Thai coach — someone who has the qualifications, experience and understanding to coach Muay Thai properly.
The people who walk through our doors aren't all fighters.
They're parents, tradies, shift workers, beginners, people getting back into training and people who may be quietly terrified of their first class.
Good Muay Thai coaching changes more than someone's technique.
They get fitter.
They become more confident.
They carry themselves differently.
They find a community and start believing they belong in the room.
And the people who quit almost never quit because the training was too hard.
They quit because nobody noticed they were gone.
That's the difference you make here.
Coach Muay Thai classes for beginners through to experienced members
Teach proper Muay Thai technique, fundamentals, pad work, drills and conditioning
Create sessions that are safe, challenging and genuinely enjoyable
Adapt your coaching to different ages, abilities and experience levels
Build relationships with members and know when someone needs extra support
Follow up members who've dropped off and help get them back in the gym
Create a member experience good enough that people bring their mates
Work with the coaching team to continually improve our programs and member experience
Coach across locations, including Myaree and Highgate, as required
Are a qualified Muay Thai coach with genuine experience coaching Muay Thai
Have a strong understanding of Muay Thai technique, training methodology and culture
Know your members by their first name and notice when someone hasn't been in
Hold people accountable while still making them want to come back
Can coach complete beginners as well as more experienced members
Train hard and show up prepared, without needing to announce it
Are passionate about Muay Thai and take pride in developing other people
Are happier watching clients achieve their own greatness than being the centre of attention
This is a casual position with varied hours.
You must be available to work shifts across our key training periods:
Mornings: 5:45am – 10:30am
Afternoons: 4:00pm – 8:00pm
Saturdays: 6:00am - 11:00am
The role may involve coaching across locations, including:
Myaree — WA 6154
Highgate — WA 6003
When applying, please clearly tell us your availability, including which mornings and afternoons you are available and any limitations around your schedule.
Muay Thai coaching qualification and/or recognised Muay Thai coaching credentials — essential
Proven experience coaching Muay Thai
Current First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain, where required)
Cert III or Cert IV in Fitness is advantageous
A boxing background is advantageous
Strong communication and people skills
Important: We are specifically looking for a Muay Thai coach.
Our priority is someone whose background, qualification and coaching experience are genuinely centred around Muay Thai.
For the right person, this can grow into a long-term coaching role across Champions Gym and an opportunity to take on greater responsibility within our Muay Thai programs.
We'd love to find someone who wants to grow with us.
