Senior Roof Plumber

DJS Melbourne Plumbing Solutions is seeking an experienced and reliable Senior Roof Plumber to join our growing team.

This is a senior, hands-on position suited to a qualified roof plumber who takes pride in their workmanship, can confidently diagnose complex roof and water-ingress issues, and is comfortable taking responsibility for jobs from the initial inspection through to completion.

Our work includes insurance-related inspections and repairs, leak detection, metal roofing, guttering, stormwater systems, roof maintenance and rectification works across Melbourne.

As our Senior Roof Plumber, you will work independently and alongside our plumbing team, supervisors and office coordinators. You will be trusted to assess roofing issues accurately, determine the appropriate repair method and ensure all works are completed safely and to a high standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Completing detailed roof inspections and leak investigations

• Diagnosing complex water-ingress and drainage issues

• Carrying out controlled water testing where required

• Completing metal roof repairs and replacement works

• Installing and repairing roof sheeting, flashings, cappings, gutters, downpipes, box gutters, sumps and overflow provisions

• Assessing roof pitch, drainage capacity and installation compliance

• Identifying defective workmanship, maintenance issues and storm-related damage

• Providing clear site findings, photographs and recommendations for reporting

• Preparing accurate material and labour requirements

• Leading and supporting other tradespeople and apprentices where required

• Liaising professionally with supervisors, builders, insurers, occupants and clients

• Ensuring all works comply with relevant Australian Standards, NCC requirements and manufacturer specifications

• Completing risk assessments, SWMS and required safety documentation

• Maintaining a clean, safe and professional worksite

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Victorian Roof Plumbing registration or licence

• Extensive experience in roof plumbing, roofing repairs and leak diagnosis

• Strong knowledge of metal roofing, flashings, box gutters, sumps, overflows and roof drainage

• The ability to identify the cause of water ingress and clearly explain your findings

• A sound understanding of relevant Australian Standards and NCC requirements

• Experience completing insurance, maintenance or diagnostic work would be highly regarded

• Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work

• The ability to work independently and make practical decisions on site

• Confidence supervising or mentoring junior team members

• Clear written and verbal communication skills

• Good organisation and time-management skills

• A current Victorian driver licence

• Construction Industry White Card

• Working at Heights accreditation
