Senior Farm Hand / Operator

The Newgate Group operates a large thoroughbred horse stud that is based at Aberdeen in the Hunter Valley, NSW.  Newgate has a vacancy to join the agricultural team to assist in the ongoing development and maintenance of the stud property.

Reporting to the Farm Manager, the successful applicant will have at least 3 years’ experience in the agricultural sector, and will be proficient in the following areas:

·       Operation and maintenance of irrigation systems

·       Operation of farm machinery, equipment, and small earth moving

·       Pasture management

·       General maintenance

Possession of a chemical user’s certificate and/or truck licence will be viewed favourably.

The successful applicant will be proactive and forward thinking with the ability to work unsupervised while taking responsibility for the outcomes of their work.  They will work closely with the Farm Manager to ensure desired outcomes are achieved.
