Financial Accountant/Commercial Analyst

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to take on a dual role of Financial Accountant/Commercial Analyst in our growing Finance team. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will support running the day-to-day accounting and finance tasks, including month end and year end processes. The role will be ‘hands on’ and form an integral part of driving accuracy and integrity of financial data.

This role has a ‘dual hat’ and includes work assisting the Group Commercial Finance Manager with commercial related tasks related to Project Development and Manufacturing functions.

What you'll be doing

As the Financial Accountant, you will help run the day-to-day accounting and finance operations whilst driving accuracy and ensuring integrity in the financial data. You will also play an active role in continuous improvement for accounting or by involvement in various business improvement projects. By collaborating with the various stakeholders, you will have true insight across the business and collaborate with the Financial Controller and the broader finance team members to provide these insights to the Leadership team.

The Commercial Analyst aspects cover both the Project Development and Manufacturing functions. This element of the role provides financial and commercial support covering pre‑production development activities (including engineering, procurement and program management project expenditure), and ongoing manufacturing performance. It is a vital role in analyzing tooling and development spend, project cost performance, and operational manufacturing costs. It supports forecasting, modelling, and commercial insight generation to drive improved decision‑making —from early research and development phases through to manufacturing.

Operating in a dynamic environment, the role requires strong analytical capability, stakeholder engagement, and commercial acumen to support cost visibility, financial governance, operational performance tracking, and a continuous improvement contribution.

 The Financial Accountant and Commercial Analyst is responsible for bridging financial and commercial teams.  The role and proportion of each element of the role requirements will develop with the position holder.

 What we're looking for in a successful candidate

• Finance / Business Degree Qualification

• CPA / CA Qualification

• A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a Big4/mid-tier firm

• High level of technical expertise in financial accounting practices

• High level of analytical skills

• Experience working in, or with Manufacturing or FMCG

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Dynamic and results driven with strong business acumen

• Ability to work autonomously and to tight deadlines

• Advanced Excel skills and ERP literacy
