The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded General Manager Sustainability to lead Repurpose It’s sustainability, climate and ESG strategy across the organisation.

Reporting to the General Counsel & Executive General Manager Corporate Affairs, this role will play a key part in embedding sustainability into corporate strategy, capital allocation, growth initiatives and enterprise risk management.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Accountability

• Lead sustainability, climate and ESG initiatives across the business
• Provide sustainability advice to Executive Leadership and the Board and Board committees
• Manage and develop strong relationships with financiers, regulators, investors and key stakeholders
• Lead ESG governance and sustainability frameworks

Enterprise Strategy & Capital Integration

• Develop and implement the Sustainability and Climate Strategy
• Integrate ESG across business investments and growth initiatives
• Lead climate planning, carbon reduction and resilience programs
• Work with executive team to support sustainable enterprise growth

ESG Governance, Risk & Board Assurance

• Manage ESG governance, reporting and compliance requirements
• Embed sustainability and climate risks into business risk management
• Prepare Board reporting and provide ESG guidance
• Oversee external assurance and reporting standards

Safety, Quality & Sustainability

• Promote a safe, compliant and sustainable workplace culture
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety and environmental systems
• Drive continuous improvement in sustainability and compliance outcomes

About You

• Degree qualified in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability or a related field
• Post graduate qualifications in sustainability, climate, business or risk management are highly regarded
• Proven experience leading sustainability, climate or ESG strategies at an enterprise level
• Strong knowledge of ESG governance, climate risk and sustainability reporting
• Experience working with Boards, financiers, regulators and senior stakeholders
• Strong commercial, communication and stakeholder management skills
