Full-Time or Casual | Smoults Larder – Maylands

We’re looking for an experienced Cook or Chef to join the kitchen team at Smoults Larder in Maylands.

Smoults is a busy neighbourhood café and larder where fresh, delicious food is at the heart of what we do. Our kitchen produces a wide variety of food every day – from our breakfast menu and fresh cabinet food to salads, sandwiches, take-home meals and a growing catering offering.

We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys cooking, takes pride in the food they produce and loves being part of a positive, hardworking team.

About the role

This is a varied, hands-on kitchen role involving:

• Preparing fresh cabinet food, salads, sandwiches and take-home meals
• Breakfast and café service
• Catering preparation and production
• Food preparation and organisation for the following day
• Maintaining high standards of presentation, consistency and food safety
• Working together with the kitchen and front-of-house teams
• Helping keep the kitchen organised, clean and running smoothly

Who we're looking for

We'd love to hear from someone who:

• Has previous commercial kitchen experience
• Is confident working in a busy kitchen
• Has strong food preparation and cooking skills
• Is organised and able to manage their time well
• Takes pride in presentation and consistency
• Is reliable and has a great work ethic
• Can work independently while also being a team player
• Brings a positive attitude to the kitchen
• Enjoys fresh food and contributing ideas

Previous café, deli or catering experience would be highly regarded.

Hours

We have flexibility for the right person, with both full-time and casual positions available.

The role will include one weekend day each week, along with weekday shifts.
