Director, Financial Sponsor Group Coverage

ING Australia’s growing Wholesale Bank has a newly created role in our FSG team, which sits within the Financial Institutions business. The Director, FSG is a Client Facing role, responsible for building relationships with financial sponsors, originating business opportunities.
A global team, FSG covers ING’s largest financial sponsor (private capital) relationships by income and exposure - managing these relationships, coordinating across products and geographies to maximise cross-buy opportunities. Close working relationships day to day are with Leveraged Finance, Corporate Finance, Fund Finance, Financial Markets, Transaction Services and other Sector teams.
FSG also has a portfolio management function responsible for allocation and performance of capital and for leading reciprocity discussions. This hire will have the opportunity to drive increased revenue production in a high-performance area, as part of our wider wholesale banking growth strategy.

What you’ll doUndertake coverage role for FSG clients, engaging strategic discussions with senior stakeholdersDrive selected client relationships with stakeholders on a portfolio of clientsLiaise laterally and vertically with peers and support functions to drive the client dialogue and own the client relationshipIdentify and drive cross-buy opportunitiesSupport commercial and credit committee applicationsOrganize and set up internal deal teams to drive and coordinate originationProvide strong analytical insights on the financial sponsor market in Australia and identify key areas of opportunity.Supervise and contribute to account planning and performance reviewsHelping to create a centre of excellence of financial sponsor activityContribute to KYC onboarding and remediation efforts as part of overall client relationshipAdhere to all ING policies and compliance
What we’re looking forStrong understanding of the commercial FI sector dynamics, relevant trends (including sustainability) and financing structures. Ideally, experienced in capital markets or financial marketsHands-on experience in the sector as a senior originator in all aspects from relationship buildout/management, effective pitching, and transaction execution.Excellent Communication skills, verbal and written – including presentation prep and deliveryWell-developed influencing and interpersonal skills.Strong negotiation skills and ability to maintain composure under stressLearning AgilityTeam Player!
