About the Role:
Mater Dei College has the opportunity for a full-time, ongoing Health and Physical Education Teacher to become an integral part of the College’s Health and PE Department, commencing 1 January 2027.
We are seeking a vibrant, passionate, and confident individual who is committed to helping our students reach their full potential.
The Health and Physical Education Teacher will be responsible for a variety of tasks within the Health and Physical Education Learning Area that are inclusive of, but not limited to:
Implementing effective teaching strategies to engage and challenge students of varying abilities to achieve specific learning outcomes.
Fostering a stimulating, encouraging and inclusive classroom environment designed to support student growth.
Deliver a comprehensive Health and Physical Education program that includes practical activities, while teaching safety and fostering student teamwork, leadership and participation.
Planning and programming for classes within the Health and Physical Education Learning Area to promote learning and involvement.
Assessing the performance of students in accordance with College procedures and where required, maintaining contact with parents regarding the performance and wellbeing of students.
Meeting the deadlines set by the Head of Learning Area and College Executive.
About You:
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism whilst supporting the Catholic ethos and values of the College.
You will:
Have the ability to teach across all year levels (Years 7–12).
Hold a tertiary qualification in Secondary Education, preferably with a specialisation in Health and Physical Education.
Be committed to creating engaging, inclusive, and high-quality learning experiences that cater to a range of student abilities.
Show strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to collaborate with colleagues.
Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Be dedicated to ongoing professional growth.
Actively support and contribute to the co-curricular life of the College.

Mater Dei College, Edgewater, is a Catholic Co-educational Secondary College established in 1993 to serve communities in the northern suburbs.
