About the role
We are seeking an experienced, organised and proactive Practice Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy specialist surgical practice based at Knox Private Hospital. This is a hands-on role combining practice management, administration, patient coordination, theatre scheduling, correspondence and accounts. The Practice Manager will be responsible for ensuring the practice operates efficiently, professionally and smoothly on a day-to-day basis. The successful candidate will be the key point of coordination between the surgeon, patients, hospital, theatre staff, GPs, specialists and other external providers.
Key responsibilities
Take overall responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the practice
Coordinate the daily administrative activities of the practice
Ensure patients receive a professional, efficient and welcoming service
Manage practice workflows, systems and administrative processes
Identify and resolve operational issues promptly
Manage patient enquiries by telephone, email and in person
Coordinate new patient bookings, follow-up appointments and cancellations
Coordinate and book theatre lists and surgical procedures
Prepare, type and distribute specialist correspondence and medical letters
Manage the day-to-day financial administration of the practice
About you
Previous experience in a medical practice, specialist practice or healthcare administration environment
Experience in a practice management or senior medical administration role
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Confidence managing multiple competing priorities
Experience with medical billing and accounts
Strong computer skills and the ability to learn and manage practice software systems
Excellent confidentiality and understanding of privacy requirements
The ability to remain calm and organised in a busy clinical environment
