About the role
The McGrath Foundation is seeking Expressions of Interest from Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander people to join our First Nations Advisory Committee.
As we continue our commitment to Reconciliation and improving cancer experiences and outcomes for First Nations people, we are looking to strengthen and broaden the diversity of perspectives represented on the Committee.
We particularly encourage expressions of interest from people with diverse lived experiences, communities and geographic locations across Australia, including regional, rural and remote communities.
The McGrath Foundation acknowledges and respects Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property and is committed to creating a safe environment where First Nations voices are heard, respected and valued.
The First Nations Advisory Committee provides guidance to the McGrath Foundation's Executive Leadership Team and RAP Working Group on:
The Committee plays an important role in helping ensure First Nations perspectives inform decisions that affect First Nations people and communities. The Foundation is committed to listening, learning and acting on the advice provided by the Committee.
We are seeking Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander people who are passionate about creating positive outcomes for First Nations peoples.
You do not need previous Advisory Committee experience to apply.
We welcome expressions of interest from people with experience in areas such as:
Most importantly, we're looking for people who are willing to share their knowledge, perspectives and lived experiences to help shape our work.
Committee members will:
Committee members will be appointed for an initial two-year term.
Committee members will receive $350 per meeting in recognition of the cultural knowledge, lived experience, expertise and time they contribute.
Additional advisory work outside scheduled meetings may be remunerated separately by agreement.
