Tintern Grammar seeks to appoint a Head of Mathematics and Secondary Mathematics Teacher to lead the teaching and learning of Mathematics, who will contribute enthusiastically to the broader positive culture of the school.

About the Role

The role requires an exceptional educator and leader who is able to teach up to VCE and who is passionate about engaging and motivating students. Proven leadership skills are essential to lead the department.

This is a full time ongoing secondary teaching position, with the Position of Responsibility as Head of Learning: Mathematics, offered for a limited tenure of 3 years.

This role commences Term 1 2027, or earlier by mutual agreement.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching, and hold experience as a Head of Mathematics or similar role.  You will demonstrate as relevant:

• Current VIT registration
• Relevant qualifications
• Strong leadership, staff management and mentoring skills
• Highly developed interpersonal skill
• An ability to lead and support staff through periods of curriculum and operational change
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and interact with both adults and student
• Ability to support teaching staff to modify materials and curriculum for students
• You will have demonstrated knowledge of the subject within the VCE and Australian Curriculum Frameworks where relevant
• Ensure the highest quality pastoral care for students and staff
• You will have a desire to work collaboratively with other teachers and actively engage in the broader life of the School
• You will encourage students to take risks within a structured school environment, to make individual choices and to use new experiences as learning opportunities  
• Care and connectedness with students
• Ability and experience to teach Mathematics to VCE level
• Strong IT skills with experience with Casio Classpad an advantage
• Current VIT registration
• Relevant qualifications
