About the role

The Director of Medicine Management is responsible for the overall operation, management and strategic direction of the Congress Medicine Services. The position works closely with the Medical Director, the Chief Public Health Officer, Senior Town and Remote Senior Nurse Managers and other clinical staff and non-hospital contractors (vendors, auditors) to ensure that our clients receive the best quality health care and a positive patient journey experience.

Team Description

The role sits within the Clinical Services Division which provides core comprehensive clinical services in town and remote Congress clinics. 

Congress provides a comprehensive primary health care service to Aboriginal people in Alice Springs and nearby remote communities. Further information is available at www.caac.org.au. 

What are we looking for?

A dynamic person to fit our team with the following requirements:

• Registered with the Pharmacy Board of Australia
• Minimum of five years of previous clinical pharmacy experience including: Managerial experience
• Experience in Pharmaceutical Benefit Scheme and Section 100 Aboriginal Medical Services dispensing
• Demonstrated leadership capacity within pharmacy setting
• Ability to direct and manage pharmacy services including strategic, clinical and workforce planning within budget and prescribed time frames
• Experience in planning, monitoring and evaluation and reporting of pharmacy services
• Excellent communication and writing skills including the ability to present complex and technical information in a simple and concise manner
• Ability to provide expert advice and implement relevant legislation, medication safety standards, policy, procedures and guidelines
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations
