Silky Oaks is a not-for-profit organisation supporting children, young people and families through residential care, outreach and therapy services, homelessness services, and practical community supports through our pantry and op shop.

As a Residential Support Worker, you'll provide therapeutic, trauma-informed care to children and young people in the care of the Department of Child Safety.

Working across our homes in Manly, Thornlands, Moorooka and Tanah Merah, you'll help create safe, stable and nurturing environments where young people can heal, develop life skills and build positive futures.

Every home is supported by a dedicated line manager, with after-hours on-call support available.

Applicants currently studying an approved qualification (Certificate IV or higher) are encouraged to apply. Paid student placement opportunities may also be available for suitable candidates.

You will have:

• Certificate IV in an approved qualification (or evidence of enrolment), or willingness to enroll

• Current Queensland Driver Licence

• Current CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain)

• Availability for a rotating roster, including regular sleepover shifts

• Availability to work a minimum of 2–3 shifts per week

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people

• Ability to obtain a Blue Card, Criminal History Check and Child Safety and Personal History Screening (LCS2)

• Australian Citizenship or permanent working rights
