Chiropractic Assistant/Receptionist

About the role

We are seeking a Chiropractic Assistant/Receptionist to join the team at Maximum Health Chiropractic in Mackay, QLD. This is a casual position working 15-18 hours per week with the flexibility to do extra hours when team mates are sick or on leave. The right person will need to be able to work 7:30am - 1pm OR 1pm - 6pm shifts and 7.30am - 10:30am shifts on Saturdays (flexible). You will be the first point of contact for our patients, creating a welcoming environment whilst supporting our clinical team to ensure efficient day-to-day functioning. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting patients upon arrival and managing reception duties with professionalism and warmth

• Scheduling appointments and managing the clinic diary to optimise patient flow

• Processing patient enquiries via telephone and email in a timely and courteous manner

• Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring confidentiality in accordance with healthcare regulations

• Processing payments and managing financial transactions securely

• Maintaining clinic treatment areas to the highest standards

• Managing clinic inventory and ordering supplies as required

• Promoting clinic services and informing patients about available treatments

• Supporting the general administration and cleanliness of the clinic environment

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in a medical administration, reception or healthcare setting is preferred but not essential

• Strong organisational and time management skills to juggle multiple tasks efficiently

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for patient care

• Proficiency in using computer systems, scheduling software and general office applications

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and work with sensitive health information responsibly

• A friendly, approachable demeanour and commitment to delivering outstanding customer service

• Basic knowledge of chiropractic or healthcare practices is advantageous but willing to learn

• Reliability and flexibility to accommodate casual shift patterns
