About the role

Help people access the right support, at the right time. Join a multidisciplinary team delivering trauma-informed, community-based mental health care that empowers people to improve their wellbeing and thrive.

Your duties include:

• Provide safe-using information an overdose prevention, undertake assessments and offer brief interventions
• Conduct AOD assessments, identifying risks and support needs to co-develop individualised care plans
• Assist people to navigate support systems, coordinating referrals and maintaining strong links with Area Mental Health Services and other relevant providers
• Develop and facilitate AOD psychoeducation and harm reduction or relapse prevention groups

Our ideal candidate:

• Minimum certificate IV In Alcohol & Other Drugs or other related fields, or a combination of living and sector experience and training
• Understanding of alcohol and other drug use from harm-reduction, recovery, and trauma-informed perspectives
• Commitment to cultural safety, inclusion, and working respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to manage risk, escalate concerns, and maintain boundaries
