It is expected that you would be in a Berry Street Yooralla 60% of the work week but that during work from home days you may also be required to attend meetings and other work activities in person. During the probation period, it will be important to spend most fo your time in person at the various work locations to learn the role, build relationships and connections.

Join Take Two, a specialist trauma service of Berry Street Yooralla, and play a pivotal leadership role in shaping therapeutic practice, service excellence, workforce capability, and strategic growth across one of Victoria's leading child trauma programs.

Take Two is Victoria's only fully accredited statewide outreach therapeutic service supporting children and young people impacted by trauma, neglect and abuse. The program combines direct therapeutic intervention with research, consultation and workforce development to create lasting change for children, families and communities.

The Opportunity

As the Assistant Director, you will provide operational and strategic leadership across a portfolio of therapeutic services supporting children, young people and families impacted by trauma, abuse, neglect and disrupted attachment. You will work closely with the Director, Assistant Director and Senior Clinical Managers to drive high-quality service delivery, clinical governance, continuous improvement, workforce development, stakeholder engagement and program innovation.

This role offers the opportunity to influence statewide therapeutic practice, champion evidence-based interventions, and contribute to the future growth and development of the Take Two service.

What you'll do

• Lead and oversee the delivery of high-quality clinical and therapeutic services across multiple programs and locations.
• Drive implementation and fidelity of evidence-based therapeutic models including Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and EMDR.
• Lead Senior Clinical Managers, building a culture of excellence, accountability, wellbeing and continuous learning.
• Strengthen partnerships with government, community organisations and sector stakeholders.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives, program development, business growth opportunities and tender activities.
• Ensure robust governance, compliance, risk management, reporting and achievement of program outcomes.

About You

You are an experienced and values-driven leader who combines strong clinical expertise with strategic thinking and exceptional people leadership skills. You thrive in complex environments and are passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people who have experienced trauma.

To be successful, you will bring:

• Significant leadership experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex service delivery environments.
• Extensive experience delivering trauma-informed therapeutic services for infants, children, young people and families.
• Strong clinical knowledge relating to mental health, child development, family violence and developmental trauma.
• Experience in practice development, workforce capability building, project management and program evaluation.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, facilitation and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to child safety, cultural safety, diversity, equity and inclusion

Qualifications

To be considered, you will have:

• A Bachelor qualification in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the field.
• A valid Working with Children Check and current Driver Licence.

Highly regarded:

• Qualifications and experience in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and/or EMDR.
• Experience working within Continuous Quality Improvement frameworks and leading evaluation activities.
