What are the specifics of the role?
As a skilled and experienced Victim Support Worker – Family Violence Practitioner, you will work as part of Windermere’s Victims Assistance Program to provide high-quality, trauma-informed and victim-centred support to people impacted by violent crime and family violence. You will undertake risk assessment and management, develop tailored care plans, provide psychological first aid, advocate with and on behalf of victims, and connect consumers with specialist services and community resources to support their safety and recovery.
• Providing tailored support to victims of crime impacted by family violence, including safety planning, risk assessment and referral to specialist services.
• Supporting and consulting with VAP team members to strengthen practice confidence and capability in family violence response, including the use of MARAM tools.
• Delivering holistic case management, intake and assessment, care planning, advocacy, outreach support and referral pathways aligned with consumer needs.
• Engaging with external stakeholders to build understanding of the Victims Assistance Program, the Victims Charter and the needs of male victims of family violence.
• Maintaining accurate case notes, consumer records and program data in line with required timeframes, service standards and Windermere policies.
This is a full-time role, 38 hours per week, fixed term to 30 June 2028. The role is site based, with the option of hybrid working in accordance with Windermere’s Ways of Working. Your primary location will be in the Eastern Melbourne region with outreach required to support consumers and attend co-location sites, including Victoria Police Stations where applicable

Key Selection Criteria
Work, Social Welfare or a relevant equivalent qualification meeting the minimum requirements for working as a Family Violence specialist.
Working with Children's check
Work in Australia e.g. Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or visa holder with full working rights
