Frazer Access provides rope access services for construction and engineering projects with difficult to reach areas, deploying the latest techniques and rope equipment in order to complete projects to the highest standard without compromising safety.

The company is seeking for an experience rope access painter to join its team of qualified professionals.

Job title: Painter

Type of role: Full-time Permanent 

Location: Sydney (inner city and travel around Sydney is required) 

Salary: 80k + super 

Key Responsibilities:

• Painting residential buildings, and other industrial buildings via rope access.

• Cleaning surfaces prior to layering paint such as removing old paint and wallpaper, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces.

• Maintaining technical equipment for the job and ensuring that they are in working order.

• Possessing a wide array of painting tools, including thin and thick brushes, airbrushes, and rollers.

• Safely disposing of chemical waste.

• Ensuring that high safety standards are met.

• Utilizing different painting techniques based on the nature of the surface.

• Utilizing special safety equipment such as painting goggles.

• Using viscosity cups and thickness gauges to measure the amount of paint to be used and the texture of the paint.

• Removing previous paint surfaces using masking or a chemical rinse.

• Painting small items and doing touch-ups.

• Ensuring proper ventilation after the paint is applied.

• Utilizing electroplating equipment to coat metal.

• Polishing metallic surfaces.

• Work independently and manage up to four other trades people.

• Follow WHS requirements as per NSW guidelines. 

• Generate job reports to management and clients. 

• Erecting scaffolding and ladders, and placing drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering

• Preparing surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, fixing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces

• Selecting and preparing paints to required colours by mixing portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying additives

• Applying paints, varnishes and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers and sprays

• Hanging wallpaper, matching patterns and trimming edges

• Cleaning equipment and work areas

• May repair windows and replace glass in wooden and metal frames

To be successful, you will need: 

• Painter minimum Certificate III in Painting and Decorating

• Minimum of 3 years work experience in the industry

• Irata minimum L 2 is an advantage 

• Current NSW driver's license & transport

• Current White card & Working at heights

• You must have full working rights in Australia.

• Good communication skills

• Ability to run jobs with team of 4 men
