Casual Chef – Approx. 20 Hours Per Week

We’re looking for an experienced casual chef to join our kitchen team at Mason & Bird in Kalamunda for approximately 20 hours per week.

We’re a busy, established café serving quality breakfast and lunch, and we’re looking for someone who is confident in a fast-paced kitchen, works well as part of a team and genuinely cares about the food they send out.

About the role

This is a casual position averaging around 20 hours per week, with a mix of weekday and weekend shifts.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch dishes

• Working confidently during busy service periods

• Food preparation and general kitchen duties

• Maintaining high standards of presentation and consistency

• Keeping your section clean, organised and stocked

• Following food safety and hygiene procedures

• Working closely with our kitchen and front-of-house team

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working as a chef or experienced cook in a busy café or restaurant

• Is comfortable working independently when required

• Can stay organised and calm during a busy service

• Is reliable and punctual

• Has good communication skills and a positive attitude

• Takes pride in producing consistent, good-quality food

Breakfast/brunch experience would be highly regarded.
