Secondary Science Teacher

The Position

Maitland Christian School is seeking to appoint a permanent full-time Secondary Science teacher. Biology specialisation is preferred but not essential.  Suitable candidates interested in a part-time position are also encouraged to apply.

Applicants with suitable qualifications and experience as Christian Secondary teachers are invited to apply for this role.

Essential Criteria

• A committed Christian actively involved in their local church.
• An ability to actively subscribe to and promote the foundational beliefs and doctrines of Maitland Christian School Limited.
• A relational and empowering educator, able to grow student vision and capacity for learning in a Christian Education framework.
• Demonstrating skills in relating to students, staff, parents, and the broader community.
• A collaborative learner, able to work as part of flexible teams, to pursue ongoing excellence.
• An education professional with a growing knowledge of their learning area, pedagogy, and innovation. 
• Experience teaching throughout Years 7-12.
• Able to demonstrate skills and flexibility to work with staff, students, and parents in a vibrant learning environment.
• A willingness to learn, grow and be coached as a teacher.
• Demonstrating well-developed communication, administration and interpersonal skills.
• Experience teaching senior classes highly desirable and new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Selection Process

The Selection Committee of the School will consider applications and prepare a shortlist of candidates for interview. It is expected that at least one round of interviews will be undertaken.

Salary

Salary will be in line with NSW Christian Schools Teacher Staff Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2024 at the level of responsibility and experience of the successful applicant.
