About the role

Positive Solutions is a Tasmanian not-for-profit with over 35 years of experience supporting individuals, families, workplaces, and communities. As we enter an exciting new phase of strategic planning, we're seeking a practitioner who is motivated to contribute not only to positive client outcomes but also to helping shape the future of our organisation.
This opportunity is open to practitioners based in the Burnie to Devonport region, with the ability and willingness to travel across Tasmania's North West to deliver services onsite to individuals, workplaces, and community settings. About the Role
Based in Devonport (or in the Northwest of Tasmania) this role delivers high-quality counselling services across face-to-face, onsite workplace settings and telehealth, supporting a diverse client base.
Working independently and as part of a wider Hobart based team, you will:
Provide short-term, solution-focused counselling (including EAP clients) and longer-term therapeutic support
Support workers compensation and private clients
Deliver onsite workplace services, including critical incident response
Conduct risk assessments, safety planning and manage complex presentations
Work with a diversity of clients including individuals and where you have the skills, couples, children and young people
Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality and professional standards
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Work structure:
0.2 FTE (approx. 1 days per week equivalent, additional work available upon client demand). Please note that if you are able to travel to Launceston that there are additional hours available.
Flexibility to work across business hours onsite, after-hours telehealth, or a combination of both
Participation in an on-call roster as part of a shared team approach
Additional hours may be offered in response to where there is increased service demand
About You
You are an engaged, thoughtful and proactive practitioner who is committed to delivering high-quality care and contributing positively to your workplace. You bring both clinical capability and a genuine desire to make a difference.
You will have:
A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or related discipline
Registration with AASW, APS, PACFA or ACA
Minimum 3 years’ post-graduate experience
Strong skills in evidence-based therapeutic approaches
Demonstrated capability in risk assessment, safety planning and managing complex presentations
Excellent communication, documentation and time management skills
Ability to work independently while staying connected to a broader team
Highly regarded:
Experience in EAP or workplace counselling
Delivery of training, wellbeing programs or critical incident response
Experience working with couples and/or young people
Familiarity with Family Law frameworks
Engagement in professional supervision and reflective practice
Experience working within supported clinical leadership environments
Skills in mediation, conflict coaching or workplace conflict resolution
Requirements:
Current Working with Vulnerable People (Tasmania) registration
National Police Check.
Current driver’s licence
