HELP SAFEGUARD THE BIOSECURITY OF OUR REGION
About Conservation & Pest Management
Operating within the Parks & Recreation branch, the Conservation & Pest Management team is a dynamic and focused group that has general responsibility for the control of invasive plants on Council roads, maintenance of invasive animal fences, and for the delivery of other invasive plant and animal programs and projects. The team also manages Council's bushland parks and assists in prescribed burning operations. Working throughout the Region, individual teams are responsible for different tasks, and also work together to assist each other, with a strong culture of collaboration and support.
About the position
As a Biosecurity Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of specific pest management programs in order to deliver services consistent with the Toowoomba Region Biosecurity Plan and the Biosecurity Act 2014 (Qld). This includes planning, compliance and enforcement and strategic control programs with a diverse range of community groups and landholders.
In this position, you will work under general direction.
