Casual Disability Support Worker

Casual Disability Support Worker position on a fortnightly rotation of active night, weekday, afternoon, split and weekend shifts inclusive of public holiday shifts as required (remuneration per respective shifts in compliance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award [MA000100] 2022).

The following requirements also need to be satisfied in order to be considered for the position:

·       Own driver’s license and vehicle

·       National Police Check

·       Relevant qualifications in disability support or nursing (either completed or currently acquiring).

·       CPR & First Aid certification (preferred)

Successful applicants will join a small team of carers providing disability support exclusively for a person living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at their personal residence (30-40 minute drive from Ballarat CBD) as well as during medical appointments and social outings; the duties of which include:

·       Providing physical assistance for all daily activities.

·       Monitoring health of person being cared for.

·       Attending to all general health & hygiene routines.

·       Meal preparation and assistance.

·       Performing basic household chores for person being cared for.
