About the role
Natural Regenerator / Team Leader - Landcare Services Unit – Casual
Potentially transferring to Full-time Permanent after a 6-month review.
Position Description
This role presents an opportunity to join a highly regarded, Catchment-based environmental works team and social enterprise. As a Natural Regenerator, you will contribute to ecological restoration programs across Greater Brisbane while providing leadership to developing staff and supporting the delivery of high-quality Landcare Services. The role is suited to an experienced operator who brings maturity, initiative, and strong team leadership capability.
You will apply advanced bush regeneration practices, guide safe and effective field operations, and mentor emerging team members. Strong decision-making, communication, and the ability to lead teams in dynamic natural area environments are essential.
Key Accountabilities
Lead small field teams in the delivery of bushland restoration projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.
Apply expert knowledge of weed management, erosion control and native ecosystem recovery to guide on-ground works.
Demonstrate leadership through coaching, mentoring and developing less experienced staff, modelling best practices and reinforcing safe work behaviours.
Uphold high standards of environmental compliance, workplace health and safety, and operational discipline.
Undertake data collection, mapping, reporting, client liaison support, and site assessments to inform project planning and adaptive management.
Provide operational support to the Operations Manager and collaborate with colleagues to meet project objectives.
Essential Criteria:
Demonstrated experience leading teams in natural area restoration environments.
Strong practical skills in natural regeneration, weed control, and ecological restoration.
Sound knowledge of local ecosystems, native species, and invasive plant management.
High level of physical fitness and ability to work in challenging outdoor conditions.
Construction White Card
Current First Aid Certificate
Current driver’s licence and reliable transport
Experience operating and maintaining power tools.
Desirable Criteria:
Chemical certification – ACDC
Qualifications in Conservation and Land Management or associated Environmental fields
4WD Operation and Recovery qualifications
Willingness to work flexible hours, potentially including weekends if required.

Bulimba Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee (B4C) is a non-profit environmental organisation established in 1997, dedicated to protecting and restoring natural bushland and waterways. Through the Landcare Services Unit (LSU), B4C delivers professional ecological services that complement and support the organisation’s broader catchment management and community programs.
Job Details
Employment Type:
Initial Casual employment with a pathway to permanency following performance review and operational needs.
Work Pattern:
Primarily field-based team leadership, training and mentoring staff, and delivering ecological restoration works in line with project scopes.
Hours:
Generally, 7.5 hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Standard hours are 7:00 am – 2:30 pm, with seasonal variation. Weekend work may occasionally be requested.
