Concreter / Machine Operator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Concreter / Machine Operator to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hands-on position based in Burpengary, QLD.

The role involves a mix of concreting, machine operation, excavation and general construction works. We are looking for someone reliable, experienced and comfortable working both on the tools and operating machinery.

What you'll be doing

·         Preparing, placing and finishing concrete for footings, slabs and other concrete structures

·         Screeding, finishing and general concreting works

·         Assisting with formwork and reinforcement installation where required

·         Operating excavators and other construction machinery

·         Excavation, trimming, backfilling and site preparation

·         Preparing subgrades and areas ready for concrete works

·         Loading and moving materials around site

·         Carrying out daily machinery inspections and basic maintenance

·         Reading and working from construction plans and site instructions

·         Working closely with supervisors and other trades to coordinate site activities

·         Maintaining a high standard of workmanship

·         Following all site safety and quality requirements

What we're looking for

·         Previous concreting experience

·         Previous experience operating excavators and construction machinery

·         Relevant machine/operator tickets

·         Current White Card

·         Current Australian driver's licence

·         Strong understanding of construction site safety

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a crew

·         Reliable, punctual and willing to undertake hands-on work

·         Ability to read construction plans is highly regarded

·         Experience in foundations, slabs and civil/concrete works is highly regarded

·         Owner-operators with their own suitable machinery are strongly encouraged to apply
