Advanced Precast is seeking a commercially minded and technically accomplished Head of Engineering & Innovation to lead our national engineering and drafting function. Reporting directly to the CEO and forming part of our Senior Leadership Team, this is a rare opportunity to shape engineering strategy, drive innovation, lead high performing teams, and influence the successful delivery of major construction projects across Australia.

The Opportunity

This is far more than a traditional engineering management position.

Based from either our Mulgrave (VIC) or Wetherill Park (NSW) office, you will lead a national engineering function comprising Engineers, Detailers, Coordinators and Document Control professionals across Australia, while also overseeing offshore engineering and drafting resources. You will provide strategic direction, technical governance and people leadership to ensure engineering outcomes support project delivery, operational excellence and future business growth.

You'll be the organisation's senior technical authority, working closely with clients, builders, consultants and internal stakeholders to deliver innovative, commercially sound and safe engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high performing engineering and drafting team across Australia.

• Set the engineering strategy and roadmap to support business growth.

• Act as the senior technical authority for complex structural, constructability, temporary works and lifting matters.

• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.

• Drive value engineering initiatives that improve project and commercial outcomes.

• Champion engineering innovation, digital transformation and AI adoption.

• Optimise internal and offshore engineering resources to ensure quality, efficiency and scalability.

• Embed safety in design principles and maintain best-practice engineering governance.

About you

You are a respected engineering professional with demonstrated success leading teams and delivering engineering excellence within construction, precast, structural or related industries.

To be successful, you will have:

• Degree qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering.

• Chartered Engineer status

• Extensive experience in precast, structural or heavy construction environments.

• Strong leadership experience managing engineering teams.

• Deep understanding of Australian Standards and structural design requirements.

• Experience reviewing and approving complex engineering solutions, temporary works and lifting plans.

• A passion for innovation, continuous improvement and emerging technologies.

• The ability to influence clients, consultants and internal stakeholders at all levels.
