We’re looking for a hands-on Field Service Technician – Mining to join our team, installing, servicing and supporting advanced technology across heavy mining equipment.

The Role

This is a hands-on field role where you’ll work directly with customers and equipment across mine sites.

You’ll install and support high-precision GPS and fleet management systems, diagnose faults, complete repairs and help customers get the best performance from their technology.

There’s plenty of variety — from installations and troubleshooting to software updates, surveying support and equipment modifications.

Key responsibilities include:

• Install and support GPS and fleet management systems on heavy mining equipment

• Diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues and complete repairs

• Install, remove and modify components and mounting equipment

• Update software and firmware onsite and remotely

• Read electrical and hydraulic schematics to support technical work

• Provide practical technical support and training to customers

• Complete inspections, maintenance and preventative service activities

• Work safely across mine sites, workshops and customer locations

• Travel and work onsite as required

The PD also includes involvement in product demonstrations, R&D and technical support across the wider Aptella team.

About You

You’re technically minded, practical and enjoy getting hands-on with equipment and solving problems.

You bring:

• Experience in a technical, mechanical, electrical, field service or heavy equipment environment

• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

• Confidence using hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment

• Good communication and customer service skills

• Ability to work independently in field-based environments

• Strong safety mindset and willingness to work within mine site requirements

• Current unrestricted Driver’s Licence

• Construction White Card

• Willingness to travel, work away from home and undertake site-based rosters

An Australian recognised trade qualification is preferred but not essential. HR Licence, EWP and Working at Heights qualifications will also be highly regarded.

Experience with mining equipment, GPS, machine technology, fleet management systems or similar technical systems will be advantageous.
