The business has recently expanded with McGregors, a second private event space located nearby, offering an intimate setting for sit-down functions or lively cocktail parties. Together, Peter Rabbit Cafe and McGregors provide diverse hospitality experiences and opportunities for team members to contribute to memorable customer events.
Role Description The Cafe Manager is a full-time (or part-time 25+ hours) role responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations at Peter Rabbit Cafe and supporting events at McGregors. This hybrid position is based in Adelaide, SA, with primary duties performed on-site. Key responsibilities include managing staff performance, ensuring high standards of customer service, supervising food and beverage service, and monitoring stock. The Cafe Manager will work closely with the Venue and Bar Managers and well as ownership to implement service improvements and support the overall growth of the business.
QualificationsStrong Customer Service skills with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere and handle guest inquiries and feedback professionally.Effective Communication skills for coordinating with team members, suppliers, and event clients.Hands-on experience in Food & Beverage operations, including barista work, beverage service, and quality control.Background in Food Service, covering workflow management, hygiene standards, and safe food handling practices.Previous experience in cafe, restaurant, or bar management, including staff supervision.Strong organisational and time-management abilities, with competence in basic budgeting and reporting.Comfort with using point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications for scheduling, inventory, and communication.Availability to work a flexible roster, including weekends, evenings, and event hours as needed.Relevant hospitality qualifications or certifications (e.g., RSA, food safety) are highly desirable.
