Forklift Operator

Arrow Transport, Logistics and Quarantine services is a national brand with a major presence in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth! 

Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced forklift drivers for to join our depot team in Kewdale!

This role is responsible for safely operating forklifts to load, unload move and stack various types of freight. When required, the operator is expected to manually unpack shipments from containers and perform other labor tasks. The role requires precision, attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Loading and unloading: Safely load and unload containers, trailers and trucks using forklifts and other equipment.

• Cargo handling: Handle various types of freight, including palletised goods, oversized items and irregular cargo.

• Freight stacking: Efficiently stack and organise cargo in the depot to maximise space and ensure stability.

• Inventory management: Counting and verifying cargo against manifests and shipping documents.

• Equipment maintenance: Perform daily inspections of forklifts and other equipment to ensure there are in safe working condition.

• Safety compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling techniques, load limits and PPE requirements.

• Communication: Collaborate with warehouse staff, drivers depot management and external personnel to ensure smooth and safe operations.

• Documentation: Complete required paperwork for freight handling, damage reports and incident logs.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Valid forklift operator certification/license.

• Experience in handling FAK cargo or working in a depot/warehouse environment is preferred.

• Knowledge of freight handling procedures, safety regulations and preferably Australian border force & Quarantine regulations (on-site training will be provided)

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Physical stamina to lift heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment.

Work environment:

• The role requires working in a warehouse/depot setting, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions.

• The job involves standing, walking, bending and lifting for extended periods.
