About the role
Join a new and innovative team in NSLHD working to support Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse. In this senior Lived Experience role you will be focussed on working across Mental Health, AOD and PARVAN to improve responses for adult survivors across the health system through training, quality improvement and other capacity building initiatives. This role will lead Lived Experience interventions within PARVAN services and have scope to identify gaps and create new initiatives.

Where you'll be working
You will be based with the PARVAN team at the RNS Community Health Centre as this is a District wide services you will, at times, be required to work across the District at multiple locations.
What you'll be doing
The ASP Senior Lived Experience Worker provides strategic lived experience leadership within the NSW Health Adult Survivors Program (ASP) in NSLHD to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for adult survivors of child sexual abuse with complex needs. Drawing on their lived experience of child sexual abuse, healing journey and their experience of the health system, the role ensures lived experience perspectives inform service design, delivery and evaluation, and supports the implementation of trauma- and violence-informed, person-centred care.
The position works collaboratively with PARVAN, Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol, Aboriginal Health Services, and community stakeholders to co-design and deliver capability-building initiatives, including education and training, that strengthen workforce confidence and responsiveness to victim-survivors. The role contributes to cultural change by embedding survivor-centred and trauma-informed practice across services.
The ASP Senior Lived Experience Worker develops empathetic relationships to support healing and recovery for victim-survivors accessing ASP services and contributes to the design, delivery and evaluation of group programs for survivors and their families and support networks. The role leads lived experience priorities within ASP and supports improved access, integration and continuity of care across service systems.
The position provides lived experience leadership to identify and address systemic issues through participation in co-design, governance, quality improvement and research activities, contributing to service innovation and continuous improvement. The role undertakes outreach across NSLHD, including engagement and co-location with relevant services, to enhance collaboration, service accessibility and equity of outcomes.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
Lived experience as a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, with demonstrated ability to safely and purposefully use this experience to support victim-survivors, facilitate groups, contribute to system advocacy and inform program design.
Experience in leadership, mentoring and/or supervision within a lived experience or peer framework, including commitment to professional development, best practice and undertaking relevant supervision training.
Sound knowledge of trauma-informed care, including understanding the impacts of child sexual abuse and the ability to respond to diverse lived experiences.
