About the role
Andaman Imports Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Wood Machinist to join our team on a full time basis at our Coomera, Queensland facility.
In this role, you will operate and maintain specialised woodworking machinery to produce high quality timber components and finished products used in the marine industry. This is a key position at our Teak wood manufacturing factory, where precision and efficiency are paramount. This role requires a professional with trade qualifications and a proven track record in wood machining operations with a minimum of 3 years experience.
Key responsibilities include:
• Essential knowledge of operating a variety of wood machining equipment including but not limited to horizontal bandsaw, 4-sided moulder, table saws, planers, sanders, routers and other specialised machinery
• Preparation of timber materials and set up machinery with appropriate tooling, ensuring correct calibration before production commences
• Read and interpret work orders to understand job production requirements.
• Attention to detail is crucial as selecting grades of timber is an important part of this role - quality check of work throughout the production process to ensure finished products meet company standards
• Packing and wrapping of completed goods for interstate transportation requirements
• Perform routine maintanance, cleaning and lubrication of machinery to ensure optimal performance and identify and troubleshoot machinery faults, making adjustments or alerting supervisors to issues requiring specialist attention
