About the role
The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated HVAC & R Service Technician preferably commercial project works to join their growing team in Chermside, Queensland.
In this full-time position, you will play a key role in servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across their commercial and domestic customer base.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician seeking a stable, long-term position within a supportive and professional team environment. You will work closely with Building Supervisors, Project Managers, Customers, and other Technicians to deliver high-quality HVAC & R solutions and exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair a broad range of HVAC & R systems, including air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment.
Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Install new HVAC & R equipment, components, and associated systems as required.
Identify faults and provide effective technical solutions in a timely and professional manner.
Liaise with Building Supervisors, Project Managers, clients, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide professional technical advice.
Maintain accurate service reports, job records, and documentation, including parts and materials used.
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with relevant Australian standards, legislation, manufacturer specifications, and company procedures.
Maintain a strong focus on workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Work collaboratively with the broader team to ensure projects and service requirements are completed efficiently and professionally.
Provide guidance and mentorship to other technicians when required, helping to build their technical confidence and knowledge while contributing to a safe and supportive workplace.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced HVAC & R professional who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
You will ideally have:
A Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or equivalent formal HVAC & R qualification.
Experience in the Commercial – fit outs and design and construct
A minimum of 5 years' experience as an HVAC & R Service Technician, preferably within a commercial or industrial environment.
Strong technical knowledge and practical experience across a range of HVAC & R systems and equipment.
Proven fault-finding, diagnostic, servicing, and repair capabilities.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team environment.
A strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
A professional approach and a willingness to support and mentor other technicians when required.
A current Australian driver's licence.
A valid ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence.
A valid White Card.
A valid EWP (Elevated Work Platform) licence.
Australian citizenship or Australian permanent residency, as required for this position.
