Yard Operator | Sino Iron

PPS Servicing has proven experience and capabilities in the mining industry with maintenance, construction, engineering design, fabrication and installation of industrial facilities.

We are currently seeking an experienced Yard Operator to join our team on a 2:1 FIFO roster at the Sino Iron Project, Cape Preston.

Position: Yard Operator – 2:1 FIFO Roster (DAY SHIFT ONLY)
Location: Sino Iron Project, Cape Preston (FIFO from Perth)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely assist maintenance and production teams with the movement of spare parts.

• Operate forklifts, telehandlers and HR vehicles to transport materials and equipment safely around site.

• Load and unload trucks, including the handling of heavy components during routine shutdown activities.

• Conduct routine inspections of laydown yards to ensure they remain secure, organised and compliant with site safety requirements.

• Maintain yard housekeeping standards, ensuring equipment and materials are stored safely and tie-down requirements are met during cyclone season. Including managing and maintaining tooling, vehicles and equipment.

• Support decontamination facilities by monitoring consumables, managing waste disposal and reporting maintenance requirements.

• Complete all tasks in line with company policies, procedures and safety standards.

• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Successful candidates will possess the following:

• Previous experience in a mining, heavy industrial or yard operations environment.

• Current HR Driver's Licence (Essential)

• Current Forklift (LF) Licence (Essential)

• Current Telehandler Ticket.

• Valid White / Construction Induction Card.

• Current Confined Space and Working at Heights Tickets.

• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Applicants will be required to:

• Pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Test prior to commencement.

• Work wearing a 3M 7500 Half Face Respirator.
