Kryal Castle is a medieval-themed tourist attraction located just 10 minutes from Ballarat, offering immersive experiences, accommodation, events, and family entertainment to guests from across Australia and around the world.

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Onsite Caretaker to oversee after-hours operations, guest support, and maintenance across our Castle accommodation and Holiday Park. This is a live-in role, ideal for an individual or couple seeking a lifestyle in a distinctive environment. Couples are encouraged to apply, with opportunities for a partner to obtain employment within the business.

This role is best suited to someone who understands the realities of Caravan and Holiday Park operations, and who brings strong trade or handyman skills to manage maintenance effectively.

You will be responsible for the after-hours operation, safety, and presentation of the property, ensuring guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. This is a hands-on role requiring independence, initiative, and a strong focus on customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide after-hours security and respond to incidents or emergencies

• Act as the primary contact for guest enquiries and accommodation issues

• Undertake general maintenance and repairs using practical trade/handyman skills

• Maintain grounds, including mowing, gardening, and general upkeep

• Coordinate external contractors where required

• Operate booking and access systems (training provided)

• Ensure the property is consistently safe, clean, and well-presented

Roster

• Wednesday to Sunday

• Days off: Tuesday & Wednesday

About You

• Previous experience in a caravan or holiday park (essential)

• Strong handyman or trade-based skills (essential)

• Comfortable working independently and managing after-hours responsibilities

• Reliable, proactive, and solutions-focused

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Basic knowledge of IT systems (experience with Newbook, Evolution boom-gates, and Onity key cards is a plus)
