We require a Project Coordinator Control Systems to join our Perth / Welshpool based Controls Systems group, to coordinate and contribute on a range of minerals and metals projects in Australia and around the world.

With offices in Perth, Brisbane, Toronto, Vancouver, Manila & Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania & Cape Town, ECG have the capability to design and deliver on complex projects, from early study work to commissioning and handover, drawing on the expertise of senior ECG personnel who have worked together for 30 + years.

In the last five years ECG has grown from sixty staff to over 300, based on word of mouth over the quality of work we do across the mining and energy sector globally. This role is key to maintaining quality and consistency as we continue to grow.

The key function of this role is maintaining design / programming continuity and quality across our automation and control systems work, and acting with the authority of our Controls leadership to ensure constraints on senior engineers’ time don’t lead to bottlenecks in our projects.

The role will suit someone with 2 to 8 years’ experience in control systems and mining who has the charm, smarts and get up and go to project strong communication skills across multiple projects to maintain project momentum. A technical or engineering qualification is an advantage but not critical.

Your role may involve working across multiple projects or being committed to one project, while also working with the Controls leadership team to develop procedures, coordinate and execute design reviews, attend meetings on behalf of senior engineers, turn lessons learned into meaningful feedback and amendment of procedures, etc.

This role is essentially a technical de-bottlenecker and would suit any control systems professional with high emotional intelligence, as well as solid technical skills, who is looking for a diverse, occasionally hectic but ultimately rewarding role, working with some very skilled resource sector controls professionals.

A solid understanding of the control systems and automation principles that drive complex industrial plant and assets that our clients own and operate. Experience in the interface between client expectation and technical project delivery with Tier 1 to Junior Miners.

• 2 to 8 years’ experience in control systems within the mining or heavy industrial sector
• Experience on front end greenfield and brownfield development projects with complex controls and automation scope
• Exposure to PLC, SCADA and/or DCS systems (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Emerson, Yokogawa, Citect, etc. highly regarded)
• Experience / exposure to project delivery, driving a job, occasionally working across multiple projects
• The ability to contribute / influence in a meeting; exercises good judgment on how to contribute, and collaborative behaviour
• Technical or engineering qualification is an advantage but not essential
