The Role:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Advisor to support multiple marine construction projects in a site-based role involving work on vessels, land-based sites, and regular travel to regional and remote project locations.

You will join a supportive, close-knit team that values collaboration, shared success, and practical site-based support across a diverse range of project environments.

 About You:

• Committed to regular site presence and travel to regional and remote project locations

• Experienced in leading ICAM investigations and supporting effective corrective action close-out

• Confident in conducting internal and external audits

• Proactive in identifying opportunities to improve safety performance in dynamic site environments

• A strong communicator who can influence, engage, and build trust at all levels

• Passionate about coaching, knowledge sharing, and contributing to a positive safety culture

 Responsibilities:

• Support the implementation of HSEQ strategies across multiple project sites

• Travel regularly to regional and remote project locations

• Support the safe and compliant mobilisation of new and existing project sites

• Lead ICAM investigations and support timely close-out of corrective actions

• Conduct internal audits, compliance inspections, and support external certification audits

• Complete site inspections, task observations, and verification activities

• Deliver toolbox meetings, training, mentoring, and Verification of Competency assessments

• Build effective relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the business

 Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, compliance obligations, and industry regulations

• Practical judgement and sound decision-making skills

• Intermediate to advanced computer and software skills

• Strong safety systems, records management, and reporting capability

• Ability to build effective stakeholder relationships across the business

• Demonstrated alignment with Maritime Constructions’ values, including integrity, respect, and enthusiasm

 Qualifications:

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or higher

• Relevant experience in construction, marine construction, or heavy industry

• ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training is highly desired - demonstrated experiencing with complex investigation practices is essential

• Current Class C Driver’s Licence

• Construction White Card

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is highly regarded

• Auditing qualification is highly regarded

• Additional beneficial qualifications may include Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry, High Risk Work Licence, or Return to Work Coordinator certification

 Requirements:

This role offers regular travel to regional and remote project sites, including opportunities to work away. You will work across vessels, land-based sites, and some of South Australia’s unique coastal environments, supporting experienced marine construction teams. As the role involves working on and around the water, you must be comfortable wearing a personal flotation device (PFD) and following water safety protocols when required.
