PUNQ Festival Volunteer

The PUNQ Volunteer & Emerging Producer Program is a six-week professional development opportunity designed for emerging arts workers, artists, students and anyone interested in contemporary art, event production and the creative industries.
Volunteers will gain hands-on experience working alongside artists, producers and creative professionals while developing practical festival production skills, industry connections and an understanding of how a contemporary arts festival is brought to life.
The program combines weekly professional development sessions, networking, Meet the Artist opportunities and hands-on festival experience.
Depending on interests, skills and festival requirements, volunteers may gain experience across:
**Exhibition Installation & Demount**
• Assist with the installation and demount of exhibitions and artworks
• Support artists and production teams with preparing exhibition spaces
• Assist with pack-down and returning spaces to their original condition
**Front of House & Audience Engagement**
• Usher audiences at festival events
• Welcome and provide information to visitors
• Support ticketing and audience flow
• Assist with front-of-house operations and event set-up
**Technical Production**
• Assist with event technical production
• Gain exposure to sound, lighting and other technical requirements
• Support production teams during events where appropriate and within the volunteer's level of experience
**Event Production**
• Develop practical skills in event preparation and delivery
• Assist with event set-up, pack-down and operational tasks
• Learn about the creative and logistical processes involved in delivering festival events
**Marketing & Content Creation**
• Support festival marketing and communications activities
• Assist with content creation for digital and social media channels
• Gain insight into how arts festivals communicate with audiences and promote artists and events
