We are searching for an outstanding Electrical Fitter to support mission critical communications systems at the Harold E Holt Naval Communication Station.

The precinct is vital to our nation’s defence and includes the Space Surveillance Telescope and C-Band Radar, part of a worldwide network of telescopes and radars that detect, track, identify and catalogue man-made objects in space.

Key Responsibilities

Adhere to safety requirements and develop job safety analyses for specific tasks.Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.Liaise with shift employees to co-ordinate downtime preventive / corrective maintenance activities.Follow the Lockout / Tag Out process when required.Plan and record work tasks in the asset / maintenance management system.Provide technical advice as required.Provide on-the-job training for other staff.Manage stores and order equipment, parts, and items.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications

Certificate III in Electrotechnology – Electrician, minimum of four years of post-trade experience.Electrical License issued by the Electrical Licensing Board.HV License“C” class driver’s license.Candidates must be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva with ability to satisfy ITAR material access compliance.Please note, this is not a FIFO role. Applicants must be based in Exmouth or willing to relocate.
