About The Sydney Voice Studio

At the Sydney Voice Studio, we are passionate about helping adults, teenagers and children discover, develop and enjoy the craft of singing and music.

We offer a range of services, from private singing lessons, group programs, choirs and performances, through to bespoke, creative project, and school-based or organisational workshops - from complete beginners through to experienced singers.

We are looking for 1–2 experienced Principal Voice Instructors/Singing Teachers to join our team and to contribute to a growing creative organisation.

The Role

You will deliver high-quality singing and voice education across a mix of individual, group and dynamic settings.

Your work will include:

• One-to-one singing and voice lessons, group classes, choir settings and school-based or workplace/organisational workshops
• Teaching adults, teenagers and children
• Teaching vocal technique and healthy voice use, repertoire and song interpretation, performance skills and musicianship concepts
• Creative and studio projects, including event planning, content creation/social media and course or resource design and development aligned with your strengths.

Who We Are Looking For

Ideally, you will have:

• Approximately 4+ years of professional teaching experience
• Experience teaching one-to-one students (adults, teens and children)
• Experience teaching groups, ensembles or choirs is highly regarded
• Strong knowledge of vocal technique, singing/vocal pedagogy and voice science
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisation and professional judgement
• Confidence using technology, email, scheduling systems and client-management platforms
• The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
• A willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development

A degree in Music, Music Education, Performing Arts, Voice, Education or a related field is highly regarded, although strong professional and industry experience will also be considered.

Additional Experience We Value

Experience in any of the following would be particularly valuable:

• School or curriculum-based music education; Familiarity with HSC Music 1 and 2
• Choir or ensemble direction
• Songwriting, performance or recording
• Piano and/or guitar accompaniment skills
• Educational resource development
• Online education or digital content
• Social media, marketing or short-form content creation
• Customer service and client relations
• Community engagement and business skills

No need to tick every box! We are looking for someone with excellent teaching skills, warmth, initiative and strong professional standards.

Availability

• This is a permanent part-time position (2 days or 3 days per week)
• Saturday availability along with capacity to work some afternoon and evening teaching hours.
• Final schedule negotiated according to studio requirements, candidate availability and teaching demand.

What We Offer

• Part-time position
• $73,000–$78,000 FTE, pro rata, equivalent to approximately $1,120–$1,800 gross per fortnight + 12% superannuation, depending on experience and contracted days.
• 2 part-time positions available, from 2-3 days per week

Requirements

• Hold a current NSW Working With Children Check, or be willing to obtain one
• Have Australian working rights
• Meet Sydney Voice Studio's professional and student-care standards and teaching availability
