Senior HR Advisor

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor who enjoys getting things done, improving the way things work and taking genuine ownership of their role.

This is an opportunity for someone with around five years’ experience working within HR who has developed strong foundations across recruitment, onboarding and general employee lifecycle activities, and is ready to continue broadening their capability.

You’ll need to be comfortable working independently, using your initiative and moving work forward without needing close supervision. Just as importantly, you’ll bring curiosity about how technology, systems and automation can make HR simpler, more efficient and a better experience for employees and managers.

About the role

As HR Advisor, you’ll provide practical HR support across the employee lifecycle while taking ownership of a range of operational HR activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing recruitment activities from advertising and candidate screening through to offer and appointment
• Coordinating and continually improving employee onboarding
• Supporting employee lifecycle activities, documentation and HR administration
• Maintaining accurate employee information and HR system records
• Providing practical HR advice and support to managers and employees
• Identifying opportunities to improve HR processes, systems and employee experiences
• Supporting HR system implementation, configuration and continuous improvement activities
• Exploring opportunities to use automation and technology to reduce manual processes and improve efficiency
• Assisting with HR projects and broader people initiatives as required.

About you

We’re looking for someone who brings:

• Approximately five years’ total professional experience within the HR field
• Strong practical experience in recruitment and onboarding
• Confidence managing your own workload and working independently
• A proactive approach – you see what needs to be done and take the initiative to move it forward
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence working with technology and learning new systems
• Experience using an HRIS, with Employment Hero experience highly regarded
• An interest in developing your skills in HR technology, automation, system implementation and process improvement
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to HR.

Experience working within a not-for-profit or community-based organisation would be highly regarded, although it is not essential.

You don’t need to have already mastered every aspect of HR systems or automation. We’re particularly interested in someone who has strong HR foundations, enjoys learning and wants to build capability in these areas.

You’ll thrive in this role if you like having autonomy, are comfortable taking responsibility for your work and are motivated by finding better and more efficient ways of doing things.
