We're seeking a compassionate and community-minded Outreach & Intake Officer to join our Community Hubs team in Kyogle. This role provides front-line support to individuals and families, with a strong focus on culturally safe engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.

About the RoleAs the Outreach & Intake Officer – Kyogle, you'll provide practical, person-centred support to community members accessing Community Gateway and the Kyogle Neighbourhood Centre.
You'll play an important role in connecting individuals and families with services and supports through:
Providing intake, assessment, information and referral support.
Supporting clients to identify their needs and access appropriate internal and external services.
Conducting outreach activities to engage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and communities.
Building positive relationships with Aboriginal community members, Elders, organisations and key stakeholders.
Supporting culturally safe and accessible service delivery.
Assisting clients with forms, documents and navigating services, including Centrelink processes, payments and obligations.
Providing brief interventions, practical assistance and appropriate follow-up.
Supporting the day-to-day operation of the Kyogle Neighbourhood Centre, including reception and administrative activities.
Representing Community Gateway at community events, forums and networking opportunities.
Maintaining accurate client records, case notes, data and outcomes.
You'll work collaboratively with clients, colleagues, community organisations and service providers to help people navigate services, overcome barriers and access the support they need.
About YouTo be successful, you'll bring:
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in a similar role.
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background, or demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families and communities.
The ability to exercise initiative and sound judgement when assessing client needs and identifying appropriate supports and referral pathways.
A sound understanding of services available to vulnerable individuals and families.
Experience in community engagement, outreach activities or supporting vulnerable people to access services.
Strong communication, relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
Sound record-keeping and data collection skills, including experience using Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
The ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing competing priorities.
You will also require:
Current NSW Driver Licence.
NSW Working With Children Check.
National Police Check.
Permanent part-time position.
SCHADS Award Level 3 salary plus superannuation.
