About the role
About the role
CIEE is seeking casual lecturing staff to deliver academic courses in Sydney. Courses will be taught in person at the Surry Hills Centre - just metres from Central Station. Each course is delivered on an intensive or semi-intensive schedule in a 3 week or 6 week block. The total contract is for 45 hours of in-person classes delivered in Sydney (with some options for repeat classes). Students will be undergraduates from universities in the United States.
Key responsibilities
Deliver academic courses in your field of expertise
Teach on an intensive schedule in 3 week or 6 week blocks
Provide instruction to undergraduate students from United States universities
We are currently recruiting for 2027 casual academic pool, with priority in interviewing for the following terms:
January 5 to January 22, 2027 (classes 5 days/week)
January 7 to February 12, 2027 (classes 3 days/week)
February 18 to March 26, 2027 (classes 3 days/week)

Fields with active recruitment include: Brewing (Beer) or beverage industries in general, Photography (general and photojournalism), Food Anthropology, Psychology, Public Health, Agriculture, Tourism, Artificial Intelligence, International Relations, Australian Art.
We will also consider adding applicants to the casual pool for courses in Australian History, Marketing, International Business, Sports Management, Digital Commerce, Entrepreneurship, Climate Science, Environmental Policy, Politics, Urban Sustainability, Employability/Internships, Viticulture (Wine).

About you
A Master's Degree in a relevant field (PhD preferable, or substantial industry experience for applied technical fields)
Teaching experience in the relevant area with proven positive student outcomes and experience, or for applied technical fields (e.g. beer/brewing, photography) leadership experience or industry impact
Passion for education and an appreciation of education as an instrument to connect cultures
Publications in peer-reviewed journals or professional publications or industry impact (desirable but not essential)
