Holmesglen’s Property Services Division keeps our campuses safe, functional and ready for learning every day. Working alongside the Electrical Supply Industry team, the Centre of Energy and Infrastructure delivers hands-on training for the electricity, rail, construction and infrastructure sectors — from underground and overhead distribution to traction and high-voltage environments.

Based at Holmesglen’s Centre of Energy and Infrastructure, the ESI Training Centre Responsible Officer plays a key role in keeping our high-voltage training environment safe, compliant and operational. You’ll oversee electrical safety processes, permits, authorisations, inductions, inspections and maintenance activities, while working closely with trainers, contractors, industry partners and regulators.

This is a practical, hands-on role for someone who understands high-voltage environments and takes safety seriously. You’ll help keep specialist electrical training assets operating safely and ensure apprentices, students, staff and contractors can work and learn in a well-managed environment.

As an ESI Training Centre Responsible Officer, you will:

• Coordinate the safe use of high-voltage and electrical apparatus for training, maintenance, inspection and upgrade activities.
• Manage HV safety procedures, permits, authorisations, inductions, inspections and compliance records.
• Coordinate planned and emergency maintenance, repairs and remediation for electrical and other high-risk assets.
• Work closely with trainers, contractors, internal teams and industry stakeholders to support safe training operations.
• Liaise with regulators and industry partners, including Energy Safe Victoria and major electricity network providers.

To be successful, you’ll have:

• Current ESI license, trade qualification or equivalent recognised license and/or qualification relevant to the role.
• Sound working knowledge of Victorian electrical safety legislation, regulations, codes of practice and industry standards, including requirements relevant to Energy Safe Victoria.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, authorisation records, inductions, competency records and compliance documentation in a high-risk operating environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of high voltage electrical operations, including switching, isolation, access permits and safe work practices, with the ability to support and facilitate these activities in a training or instructional environment.
• Experience coordinating planned and emergency maintenance, inspections, remediation works and risk controls for electrical or other high-risk assets.

WWCC and Police Check:

Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
