Quality Assurance Coordinator - Food & Timber Safety

The Commercial Quality Coordinator is an active member of the quality team, responsible for implementing initiatives and coordinating site-level execution of operational quality priorities set by the Commercial Quality Lead, while managing risk to enhance customer and employee experience. This role will be working with our teams in production site based in Bundaberg and with required travel to Maryborough Timber Mill. 

With a focus on quality, this role ensures systems and processes comply with legal, customer and accreditation standards by implementing and maintaining approved quality frameworks and supporting continuous improvement at site level.

As Commercial Quality Coordinator, you will also contribute specialist expertise in your field and provide practical guidance and support to site leaders and teams under the direction of the Commercial Quality Lead. 

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organisational requirements
• Conduct quality assurance tasks and monitor food safety and quality performance, including but not limited to: Timely completion of verification schedule tasks, participate in internal audits, maintain the multi-disciplinary food safety and customer standards.
• Support internal and external audits across WHS, Environmental, and Quality domains
• Lead food safety culture and support the implementation of quality protocols
• Assist in commercial customer queries, new product trial processes. Address customer concerns or complaints and coordinate in resolving food safety & quality‑related issues
• Support continuous improvement by implementing audit recommendations and process enhancements

About You

You will ideally bring:

• A tertiary qualification and/or industry certification in Food Quality Assurance (highly desirable)
• 2+ years of industry experience in quality systems or compliance
• Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and HACCP principles
• Understanding of food safety & quality standards and regulations, ideally including HACCP, SQF, WQA, Kosher, Halal, Australian Certified Organic and Standard Code.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to manage documentation efficiently
