About the role
SRC Aus is helping to shape the future Defence and Intelligence Information architectures that will support the Australian Defence Force and its allies – redefining possible for the warfighter.
SRC Aus Pty. Ltd. combines SRC Inc's 55+ years of experience in Electronic Warfare (EW) with an Australian team of EW experts to develop next-generation solutions for the Australian market. The company provides innovative products and seasoned analysts to solve Australia's toughest EW challenges – from mission planning support and threat simulator receivers that assist with airborne training and operations — to ground-based counter radio-controlled improvised explosive device EW systems.
To support these activities SRC Aus has invested heavily to develop modern, secure facilities. SRC Aus is at the leading edge within Australia’s Defence Industry, by developing infrastructure that supports high-end Defence engineering and data science in locations where people want to work.
About the Role
You'll join a technical team responsible for integrating tools for processing radio/radar system data, where the core challenge is processing large volumes of data quickly and correlating results in real time where performance and precision both matter. You’ll be working across a Python (Flask) backend and a React frontend that handle data processing and user interface respectively. You'll take features from idea to production, help shape architectural decisions, and mentor developers earlier in their careers. It's a role with genuine autonomy and room to influence how the system is built.
Responsibilities
Qualifications
3–5 years of professional software development experience.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Must hold an Australian Government security clearance (NV1).
Desirable
Skills
Strong Python and JavaScript development skills; hands-on experience with Flask and React.
Familiarity with REST API design and real-time data handling (e.g. WebSockets, streaming pipelines).
Experience with multiprocessing and multithreading for concurrent, real-time workloads.
Familiarity with SQL and relational database systems.
Experience with Git-based version control workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with Docker and containerised deployment workflows.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering reliable, maintainable software.
Familiarity with system design principles and the ability to evaluate trade-offs across technical approaches.
Effective communicator who can translate technical concepts for both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to estimate time and effort for tasks and deliver against those estimates.
Track record of delivering to schedule, with sound judgement about how to prioritise tasking under competing demands.
