Heavy Diesel Mechanic

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team at our Tullamarine, VIC workshop. In this hands-on role, you will take the lead in maintaining and repairing our fleet of waste trucks and truck bodies, ensuring everything runs safely and efficiently.

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of heavy vehicles
• Conduct scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance to ensure fleet safety and compliance
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
• Maintain accurate service records using fleet management systems
• Support workshop safety and cleanliness in line with WHS policies
• Carry out basic welding and grinding work as required

About You

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Diesel Fitter (Cert III or equivalent)
• A valid HR licence (advantageous)
• Strong understanding of hydraulics and electrics
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues efficiently and cost-effectively
• Experience with fleet maintenance and running repairs
• Commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
