We are seeking experienced, confident and compassionate Female Disability Support Workers to provide intensive in-home and community-based supports to an 11-year-old girl and her mother. The participants have communication difficulties and requires a support worker whose spoken English is easily understood.
This is a unique role supporting the entire family unit. Success in this position requires someone who is calm under pressure, highly organised, emotionally intelligent and passionate about creating structure, routine and positive outcomes for families living with complex disabilities.
The successful applicant will become an integral part of the family's support network, helping establish consistency, reduce overwhelm and increase independence.
About the Family

Mother
The mother has been diagnosed with:

Major Depressive Disorder
Anxiety
She is capable but can become overwhelmed by daily demands and executive functioning challenges. She drives independently but may require transport assistance during periods of increased stress.
Your Role

Responsibilities include:

Community access and participation on weekends.
Transport to appointments and community activities when required.
Supporting positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation.
Maintaining accurate progress notes and documentation.
Working collaboratively with therapists and the wider support team.

Able to think independently while following behaviour support strategies and care plans.
Professional, compassionate and respectful.
Essential Requirements
Experience supporting people with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Experience supporting people with intellectual disability.
Experience working with behaviours of concern.

Experience supporting participants with ADHD.
Knowledge of executive functioning supports.
Understanding of body doubling strategies.
Experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
Mental health support experience.
Relevant qualifications in Disability, Community Services, Mental Health or similar.
What We Offer
Consistent ongoing shifts.
Opportunity to make a genuine long-term difference to a family's quality of life.
Supportive multidisciplinary environment.
Ongoing professional development.
A rewarding role where relationship-building and therapeutic support are valued over task completion.
